Item Description

A classic example of the rare hydrated potassium calcium aluminum beryllium silicate Milarite from the locality at Jaguaracu which has produced some of the most iconic examples of the species extant. This attractive thumbnail is filled with a semi-"burst"-like group of sharp, well-formed hexagonal crystal measuring up to 7 mm which show a light yellow-green hue under the outer white exterior. Keep in mind that most of the specimens from this locality are either single prisms or groups of crystals in parallel growth, so it's quite rare to find a piece with multi-directional crystal growth like this. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
