Item Description
An old-time, fine milky quartz specimen from a classic Connecticut locale - the Lantern Hill Quarry in North Stonington. This is a dramatic, jackstraw cluster of large, lustrous, milky quartz crystals, which have an unusual preferential overgrowth of smaller, second generation quartz crystals on all sides, but not the sharp terminations. The piece is pristine and it looks great from either side. The Lantern Hill Quarry opened in the 1870s. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
