Item Description

A lovely thumbnail specimen from this prestigious Mexican locale. The famous old Ojuela Mine is one of the most iconic specimen-producing localities in the entire country. It has yielded some of the most beloved mineral specimens in the history of mineral collecting. This specimens golden-yellow color Mimetite aggregates in semi-spherical form which are associated with a few lovely yellow, sharp, lustrous, gemmy tabular crystals of Wulfenite on minor matrix. The Mimetite groups are elongated, but not narrow prisms, nor are they complete "spheres", but somewhere in between. No major damage, but a few small contacted areas can be seen. We've seen plenty of green Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine often associated with Wulfenite, but the yellow material is older, and to my mind, less common than the green.
