Molybdenite

A select and very attractive Molybdenite crystal from the famous locality of Onganja. The pyramidal crystal is 2 cm across and 1.3 cm deep. The luster and form of this layered crystal is fabulous - it is sharp along the sides and mirror-like along the face. Rarely will you find a Molybdenite crystal this well-formed, and on a schist matrix, no less. Truly exceptional for species, in my mind, because the crystal habit itself is interesting and different from the common sorts you see at other localities. I think, perhaps, for overall quality and the matrix placemet, this is the best one I have seen go through the auctions here.
