Item Description

A very hard to find specimen of Molybdenite from the lesser known Los Taberneros Quarry in Spain. This small cabinet features a sharp, well-formed, silvery colored metallic hexagonal crystal of Molybdenite measuring 1.1 cm across associated with sharp, gemmy, lustrous Smoky Quartz prisms on chalky white Orthoclase matrix. The main Molybdenite is undamaged, but there are a couple contacted / incomplete Molybdenite crystals on the piece as well. Most of the Quartz crystals are in good shape, but I can see a few nicks and separation marks here and there. This is the first specimen of Molybdenite that we've ever had to offer from this locality, and if you collect sulfides or European minerals. don't miss out on this attractive display piece from a fairly obscure locality.
