Item Description

A striking, 4.2 x 3.6 x 3.4 cm, parallel-growth composite cluster of brilliant silver-metallic hexagonal laminar molbydenite plates is dramatically perched on the sculptural mounded quartz matrix. This classic and aesthetic small cabinet is from the well-known Wolfram Camp deposit. A world-classic molybdenite specimen locality, specimens rank with those from the famed Kingsgate mines of New South Wales, Australia and from Moly Hill in Quebec, Canada. First worked in 1894, intermittent main production periods lasted until 1982. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1993. This outstanding 360-degree specimen has many fine display possibilities.
