Item Description

A dramatic morganite combination specimen from the famous White Queen Mine. The striking CABINET specimen is dominated by the 9.2 cm, doubly terminated quartz crystal, but the CROWN JEWEL is the 3.3 cm, gemmy and lustrous, sharply hexagonal, pretty rose-pink, morganite crystal jauntily attached to the side of the quartz crystal. The translucent, light gray quartz crystal has lustrous to lightly frosted faces and even though the termination is contacted, it is without damage. The snow-white bladed cleavelandite, smaller terminated quartz crystal and striking furrowed areas, where quartz veins were and still are, are super accessories to this large sculptural piece. The morganite is pristine. This is old-time, high quality combination material from this renowned locale, 1960s or 70s. Ex Maury Morgenstein Collection, an old-time San Diego miner (we had sold this some time ago and it came back in a trade recently). Superb locality piece of interest, valued $750
