Item Description

A spectacular, large, two generation manganoan calcite from this remote and now famous locality. The fascinating, two parallel-growth disks have sharp edges. The sharply formed interior of these pretty pastel-pink rhombs is gemmy, transparent to translucent and looks just like a morganite crystal, and in fact they were nicknamed them Morganite Calcites in China at the time they came out around 2017-18. The surrounding, frosted fringe is translucent. A few smaller disks are a nice complement. Excellent neon-orange fluorescence is a bonus! This is a fine example of this rare style, purchased directly in China at the time they came out. This has a white color in strong light, but a soft slightly pink color in LED. It is fluorescent pink, indicating presence of manganese.
