Goshenite/Morganite with Topaz

Gemmy Morganites can be hard to find, and here you have three completely gemmy, very pastel light pink Morganites, on matrix showing a combo with topaz! In strong light, it actually looks more like goshenite, a colorless beryl. Weaker light, you can see more pink tint. The prism faces are frosted, but the terminations are perfectly clear so you can see all the way down the into the crystals. The largest of the Morganites is 2.4 cm across. To make this piece even better, there are two topaz crystals lying across the specimen, the largest of which is 1.6 cm long. An impressive and aesthetic combination piece showing off two gem species in unusual association. This is a Pakistani/Afghani specimen from the personal collection of choice miniatures and small cabs we obtained from Herb when he retired in 2008 - and Herb almost single handedly opened up this part of the world for miniatures in the 1970s and 1980s, so his provenance is quite good! This is a subtle piece - better in person.
