Item Description

Pretty sea-green tourmalines are a super accent to one side and the base of this complete all-around, gemmy and lustrous, morganite crystal from Minas Gerais. The textbook, two-sided, hexagonal crystal has pretty blush-pink color and is gem quality, with only a bit of interior crazing. Most of the crystal faces are water-clear, while some others are preferentially frosted. Embedded feldspar is noted on a few faces. This is classic and excellent combination material. The hand-written label says Verdinho Mine, Itatiaia, but we believe this fine combination specimen is either from the famous Urucum Mine or the Barra de Salinas pegmatites, due to the tourmaline association. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection. RARE in this combination quality. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
