Muscovite (var: Fuchsite)

Item Description

A richly colored specimen of the chromium-bearing variety of Muscovite, Fuchsite. It used to be a valid species, but now is reserved for the greenish variety of Muscovite (most often chromium or vanadium bearing). This piece features lovely foliated, green (and golden), bladed crystals of Fuchsite with a soft, almost velvety metallic appearance. Hard to find on the market and I know there aren't a lot of people who collect Mica, but this is a worthwhile piece for your collection if you happen to be looking for one.
