Native Arsenic with Proustite and Quartz (circa 1800s)

Item Description

Quintessential, old-time historic piece from the famous St Andreasberg district in Germany. The matrix is graced by dozens upon dozens of 1-2 mm, red Proustite crystals, and these, in turn, are draped by sparkly and metallic blankets of Native Arsenic. There is even some crystallized Quartz mixed in to make the combination even more impressive. Classics like this were mined long ago, and this comes with an old George English label from the 1800s (https://mineralogicalrecord.com/labels.asp?colid=319). Arsenic ore, with sparkly red proustite....a nice display specimen.
