Item Description

Fabulous old native bismuth combination specimen composed of intergrown and highly lustrous crystals. The definition between the individual plates is so sharp that this really gives the appearance of a classic etched iron-nickel meteorite, just golden in color. HIgh silver content also makes this unusual, as does the uncommon Mexican locality from which we do not see bismuth specimens today and haven"t in a LOOOONG time. According to the label, this rarity also contains bismutite and bismite. This old-timer comes with a Lazard Cahn label, a prominent U.S. dealer from the mid-1890s to his death in 1940. This label dates from about 1915 to 1940.
