Item Description

These beautiful gems are without question some of the most unique and interesting stones to come out of any locality in a long time. This stone dates back to the beginning of 2021, when we first started seeing them hit the market. We were fortunate enough to have a good contact in Java who was able to secure a small parcel of high quality pieces for us. As you can see, this stone features a beautiful multicolor mix of Opal with colors ranging from blue to green hues, with mixed yellow and red areas of color as well. We were told that the Opal has replaced petrified wood, and is referred to as "Opalized Wood". The highlight of this "Oval Cabochon" cut stone is that there are brilliant bright metallic section of Native Copper mixed in! The polish on the stone allows the Copper to really shine, and I'm certain it's the Copper content in the that is creating the lively blue and green colors in the gem as well. If you're a gem collector, this is something that I'm sure you've never seen before, as it's quite rare to find native elements incorporated into any kind of gems like this, let alone something so colorful and honestly beautiful. Don't pass this up, because we don't know if this find will produce more material, and sometimes these kind of discoveries have a tendency to be mined out quickly and disappear from the market.
