Native Copper in Opal and Chrysocolla (rare)

I love these gems because they are some of the most unique and interesting stones to come out of any locality in years. These beautiful and distinctive stones started showing up at the beginning of 2021, and we were fortunate enough to have a good contact in Java who was able to secure a small parcel of high quality pieces for us. As you can see, this stone features a beautiful multicolor mix of Opal and Chrysocolla (we were told originally that this was Opalized Wood, but this may not be entirely accurate) with colors ranging from a soft blue to sea-green hues, and even some small black patches mixed in. The highlight of this "Oval Cabochon" cut stone is that there are brilliant bright metallic spots of Native Copper mixed in! The polish on the stone allows the Copper to really shine, and I'm certain it's the Copper content in the that is creating the lively blue and green colors in the gem as well. If you're a gem collector, this is something that I'm sure you've never seen before, as it's quite rare to find native elements incorporated into any kind of gems like this, let alone something so colorful and honestly beautiful. Don't pass this up, because we don't know if this find will produce more material, and sometimes these kind of discoveries have a tendency to be mined out quickly and disappear from the market.
