Native Silver on Acanthite ps. Argentite

Item Description

Mined in the 1800's, this Native Silver specimen is a highly representative example from the famous Himmelsfurst Mine. The curling Silver wires have an excellent patina, reach up to about 5 mm in length, and they rest on a classic matrix of Acanthite after Argentite. There is even some Acanthite on the wires themselves. Once in the Rheinlander collection (old 1913 label included), this was #12,395 in Kay's collection.
