Item Description

Natrochalcite is a very rare hydrated, sodium, copper sulfate the and the Chuquicamata Mine of Chile is the type locality. Attractive, gemmy, lustrous, emerald-green Natrochalcite crystals measuring up to 3 to 4 mm cover the underlying matrix on several sides. This fine and notably rare old-time specimen dates back about 100 years. VERY hard to find on the market, and outside of Chile, I don't know if I can recall seeing a specimen of Natrochalcite from any other locality in the world - it is only reported from a few other places worldwide anyway.
