Item Description

Sparkly, cream-colored spheres of Natrolite needles aesthetically fill this vug within a basalt matrix. The form and definition is excellent, with the largest sphere being a full centimeter across. From the side, you can clearly see the radial growth patterns, with the tip of each and every needle being gemmy, thus creating the beautiful shimmer. Horseshoe Dam, in a mountain park to the north of Phoenix, was the site of a remarkable find of zeolite minerals. Not surprisingly, these are considered Arizona's best Natrolite specimens. This was #11,993 in Kay's collection. Such specimens from the 1980s finds are now rarely available, and the aesthetic of this piece are far better than the pics can capture.
