Item Description

VERY RARE and showy old-time combination material from Copper Country. Sprays of very glassy, water-clear, colorless natrolite blades are aesthetically set on two areas of the scuptural matrix. The large blades are up to 2.7 cm. The matrix includes many textbook snow-white analcime crystals, dominated by the striking 2.7 cm crystal at the top. A 6 mm freestanding cluster of sharp copper crystals is a super accent and most of the matrix is a large glassy calcite cleavage! Only two of the famous old copper mines in Houghton County have all four species listed by MINDAT: the Isle Royale Mines; and the Osceola Mine. Neither mine has any natrolite photos in their galleries. This is possibly a UNIQUE, old combination specimen from the Keweenaw. Try to find another!! A MUST for the locality or species collector! Ex Kay Robertson collection from uncatalogued material (no number)
