Item Description
Large nephrite jade specimens of this size and quality are RARE from this well-known locality. Nephrite is a variety of jade comprised mostly massive microcrystalline to cryptocrystalline felted amphiboles of the Tremolite - Actinolite Series. The very sculptural piece consists of slightly translucent, mounded bubbly botryoids of coated olive-green nephrite. 563 grams or over 1.2 pounds mass. Rarely on the market and probably older material. Ex Soregaroli Collection.
