Item Description

The finest and most well-known examples of Neptunite are those from the now closed Gem Mine in California. These beautiful and impressive specimens are some of the most recognizable examples in the world and they are renowned for their quality and beauty. This piece hosts a good sized group of sharp, lustrous, prismatic crystals of dark reddish-black Neptunite aesthetically sitting on muted blue-grey Crossite matrix. For the quality and aesthetics, this is a nice specimen of this fast-disappearing material. Great shape all around, though the termination has a bit of a muted (slightly etched?) luster. The label accompanying the piece states it was collected in April of 1998. Priced at $2,000 in our inventory.
