Item Description

This very fine Marilyn Dodge Dallas Gem Mine miniature is labeled as being manganoneptunite, which is isostructural with neptunite. MINDAT does not list manganoneptunite as being present at the Dallas Gem Mine. Such older neptunites were often referred to as manganoneptunite. The aesthetic, sheaf-like cluster of curved blades has high luster and rich reddish-brown color. This is a complete all-around and pristine floater. The ends are contacted, but there is no damage, per se. This specimen was in a museum display. An outstanding large example of this neptunite varietal from this famed mine.
