Item Description

Here we have an impressive, LARGE, excellent quality, specimen of the classic Neptunites from the famous and now closed Gem Mine in California. Next to Benitoite, Neptunite is one of the "staple" species from this locality, The best crystals of Neptunite from this mine are certainly the best of the species ever found. I love the deep reddish / chestnut color of the crystals with their glistening luster and slightly "twisted" growth (not unlike a Gwindel). It's incredibly rare to find well-formed, terminated Neptunite crystals of this size not only from this locality, but anywhere in the world. It's quite rare to get your hands on any good Neptunites on the market anymore these days, so don't miss out on a superb piece of this fast-disappearing material. No real damage, save the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. The only imperfection is that there is a gentle "rub" on the back where it probably grew against the edge of the pocket or another Neptunite crystals. Priced in the inventory at $1,500.
