Item Description

A 3.0 cm, lustrous, compound olmiite "ball" is aesthetically set in a sculptural vug lined with sparkly, gemmy calcite crystals on this showy and excellent combination from the recent 2016 find at this famous mine. The ball is composed of chocolate brown, densely intergrown orthorhombic crystals for which the pocket is named for. Another vug on the side and back is filled with more scintillating calcite crystals. The attachment area on the ball adds character and contrast to this very highly representative combination example of the species and locale. Olmiite specimens from here are a classic and desirable species.
