Item Description

This is a cool association specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen has no Amazonite, but it is a wonderful display piece featuring sharp crystals of "Onegite" (Amethyst with Goethite inclusions) with a few Smoky Quartz crystals on minor beige Microcline. Some minor reddish Hematite can be seen on the piece as well. This piece is an interesting association piece that would fit nicely into any collection. The piece was collected by Richard Kosnar in the early 1980's, and came to his son Brian in 2007 after Rich died. The piece retains Brian's Collection number BK209 on the bottom.
