Opal is one of the most diverse gems in the world. They come in every color of the rainbow, and they're just as eye-catching when they're completely water clear as when they're opaque. The material has a simple chemistry, but you get a lot of diversity of Opal. Here we have a lovely "Oval Cabochon" cut gem which shows flashes of gold, blue, green and purple in strong lighting. Please note that this stone is a triplet, and is set against a backing to the help color show through.
