Item Description

Virgin Valley Opals are well-known around the world for the fantastic multi-color specimens which are often associated with / formed in petrified wood. This full sized thumbnail specimen features plenty of patches of brilliant colorful Opal along with the notably well-preserved, striated form of the tree on the underside. You can see bright color flashes scattered around the specimen with highlights of red, gold, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The piece is really fun to view up close and looks great in strong lighting. VERY little of this material is on the market these days, and these are true US classics and a must have for any fan of Opal. The cool part is that this is not only a mineral specimen, nor is it solely a gem specimen or a fossil, but truly a combination of all three. Valued at $800.
