Item Description
Belemnites are an extinct group of marine cephalopods. They lived in the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods and are related to ammonites. This is a classic and beautiful opalized belemnite from the famous Coober Pedy Opal Field of South Australia. This lightly buffed beauty has real color to it, with bright flashs of candy apple-blue-green and subtle hints of orange, which really sets this distinctive fossil off. This is an excellent and above-average colored opalized mollusc from this well-known locale. It is very visibly colorful and translucent. Valued at $500.
