A classic of the mineral collecting world, merging mineral and fossil, this is the famous opalized clam fossil from Coober Pedy. And, it is a good one - with both good shape AND good color! The miners here live underground, and it is a town featured in numerous articles on weird places to live. It also produces amazing opalized fossils, unique in the world. This piece is very good. They are usually sold by the gram, by the way....as opal rough. (6.71 grams here)
