Item Description

To my mind, this is a remarkable and aesthetic combination piece with extar interest once you realize the true weirdness of the replacement pseudomoprh here...a feldspar having replaced fluorite crystals! Later, those replacements served as host for sulfides atop. Specimens of any type are rare from this obscure, small mine, but to have such excellent psuedomorphs with such good, well-defined crystals is a happy occurence, from any locality really. The Orthoclase after Fluorite octohedrons reach up to 1.3 cm, with the original habit still well-preserved. The jet-black Sphalerite crystals reach 1.2 cm, and the metallic, twinned Chalcopyrites reach up to 1.3 cm. This excellent small cabinet piece has a little bit for everybody, and together they add up to a lot! Formerly in the extensive collection of W & A Cook. Truly unique - never seen another.
