Orthoclase (RARE Colorado)

Item Description

Orthoclase is EXTREMELY RARE from the famous San Juan Mts of Colorado. MINDAT lists two localities, but there are no photographs. This is a very showy and rich solid mounded plate of sharp, lustrous, pastel-pink crystals, to 2.5 cm. The architecture of this 3-sided rarity is fine. From an East Coast collection and probably old-time material, but no proof. Possibly from the famous Camp Bird Mine. A MUST for the Colorado or species collector.
