Item Description

In addition to the some of the world's best Garnets and Vesuvianite crystals, the Jeffrey Mine in Canada can lay claim to arguably the finest Pectolite crystals ever found. This piece features well-formed groups of fairly thick, bladed Pectolite crystals that have excellent luster, slight translucency and a light shade of green. The largest crystal measures 1.7 cm, which is pretty good for the species and the locality. The piece is not completely damage free, but robust crystals of Pectolite like this are almost impossible to find outside of this locality. This piece likely dates to the 1970s or early 1980s. A good representative specimen from this famous mine. This locality is totally finished, and will never produce these amazing Pectolites again. Ex Charlie Key specimen. Charlie is arguably the most successful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
