Item Description

Pectolite is the calcium analogue of Serandite and is a member of the Wollastonite group of mineral species. Superb Serandites are synonymous with Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec and superb Pectolites are synonymous with the famous and now-closed Jeffrey Mine of Quebec. This aesthetic jackstraw cluster of glassy, tabular, colorless blades has numerous crystals over 1.0 cm, with the largest being 1.7 cm. There are very few broken crystals for such dense coverage. This is a superb specimen from the Howard Belsky Collection and dates to the 1970s or early 1980s. VERY SELDOM available in this quality, richness and size of crystals! Valued at $600 or more for rarity and sharp crystallization of the species.
