Item Description

A stunning, large, 2.8 cm, "Christmas tree" of neon-blue, gemmy and lustrous, pentagonite lathes and needles is dramatically set and protected in a curved vug in basalt lined with sparkly stilbite blades. The striking large blade is about 1.4 cm long! Pentagonite, a rare orthorhombic dimorph of Cavansite, has certainly been one of the more spectacular mineral discoveries of recent years. Sprays of Pentagonite are known for spectacular form, color, and luster and this is a topflight and sculptural combination. Wagholi pentagonites are easily the world's best for the species. The species is found at a ratio of about 1 pentagonite to 1000 cavansites at these rich quarries in India and simply nowhere else in good showy form. This is a superb and large matrix example. Valued at $2500.
