Item Description

Pentagonite literally gets it name from the fact that it forms in five-sided crystals, which is great rarity in nature. If it were not for the Deccan Trap in India, I don't think many people would know about Pentagonite. Not only are the most well-known examples found here (specifically at Wagholi), but they are the finest representations of the species in the world. People love this mineral for it's intense electric blue color and beautiful crystal form. This thumbnail features an attractive beautiful, sharp, neon blue aggregate of Pentagonite measuring 1.2 cm across on a layer of gemmy silvery colored Heulandite blades on matrix. There are a few contacts, but for the most part, the aggregate is in pretty good shape. A very showy and good quality specimen of this rare material.
