Item Description

As Peridot goes, the world's supply of gem material received a serious boost about 20 years ago when the first great gem Peridot crystals started coming out of Pakistan. This material is some of the finest color I've seen for Peridot and the sheer size of some of the gems that have come out is amazing. This gem came to us labeled as being a bi-color Peridot, which is quite rare in my experience. The majority of the gem is a lovely green hue, but if you look at just the right angle, you can see it has more of a yellow tone on one end. Natural bi-colored gems are rare, most people think about Tourmaline when it comes to bi-colored stones, but most gems are a single hue, so this is a significant gem for what it is. It would make a great addition to an oddball or esoteric gem collection. The cut on the stone is an "Emerald" cut, and it is virtually eye clean for all intents and purposes. Well worth the starting bid.
