Item Description

Phenakite is uncommon beryllium silicate found in granite pegmatites and schists and is well-known from this former Nevada Be-F-W mine. Lustrous, translucent, sharp, prismatic, trigonal crystals (some oxide tinted) to about 6 mm richly cover the front, with more on the sides and back of the vuggy quartz matrix. Excellent and highly representative material for the species and locality. Older material from the 1970s or earlier. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
