Item Description

A lovely example of this relatively rare copper, zinc arsenate. Small attractive, emerald green spherical aggregates of Philipsburgite are sitting on Quartz (?) matrix. The Black Pine Mine is the type locality for Philipsburgite, and some of the best, most attractive and striking specimens of the species are found here. We have photographed the Philipsburgite with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate their quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10916). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
