Item Description

Phosphophyllite, with its unique blue-green color and gemminess, is one of the rarest and most desirable mineral species in the world. This rare, larger matrix specimen, from a recent find features a 2-9 mm thick vein of phosphophyllite sandwiched between the sulfide and quartz-rich matrix. Two of the phospho xls are sharply terminated and highly lustrous, and both are gemmy. The gemmy crystals are classic, high-grade material, even though with a bit of edgewear. The translucent crystal is actually 4.1 cm long! Large and rich phosphophyllites like this rarely come on the market and are always valued highly. And it is a matrix specimen, which is uncommon in itself. Fairly priced at $1250-1500.
