Item Description

Picture Jasper is a petrified or silicated mud that dripped into gas pockets in molten lava. It became superheated and then solidified forming the unusual banded patterns which are typical of this stone. This "Oval Cabochon" cut stone has great tan and grey banding that is typical of the material. The dome is well polished and the piece is very attractive as it resembles the rings of Saturn or some exotic landscape.
