Item Description

These specimens came to us from a friend who collected them their claim In Antelope Valley. This miniature is a rarely seen and very eye-catching piece of lovely baby pink botryoidal Chalcedony that has formed in a lovely banded / layered formation. I really love the flowing ethereal appearance of the specimen which is combined with the semi-botryoidal forms. I would say the exterior has somewhat of a waxy luster, but it's not dull either, it's somewhere in between. When backlit, you can get the light to really push all the way through the piece. It's translucent to nearly GEM quality depending upon where you look. The color and form truly draw your attention,. Interestingly, the site where these specimens are found is on BLM land that was part of the childhood home of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor - the Lazy B Cattle Ranch - in southeastern Arizona. For those who collect Quartz and its numerous varieties, or for anybody interesting in colorful specimens from the southwestern United States, don't miss out on this one, it's better than most Chalcedony you'll see on the market, especially from the standpoint of color, form and quality. Valued at $400.
