Item Description
This is a relatively large platinum nugget for the market these days. It is complete ALL AROUND and has a beautiful meteor-like pebbled exterior. It is, as far as they go, even relatively aesthetic (I have seen uglier). This piece came to me from an old German collection. At spot prices (http://www.kitco.com/charts/liveplatinum.html) it is worth $515 even just for melting. But, Platinum nuggets like this are MUCH MORE rare than gold nuggets, and as a collectible, much harder to come by. So it should be valued more like $1500-1800 as a specimen
