Item Description

An OLD-TIME Bisbee azurite specimen. One side has been polished to bring out the stunning "electric blue" banding in the midnight-blue azurite found in few Bisbee azurites. The unpolished matrix backside reveals numerous, small vugs with tiny, lustrous, azurite crystals. I love that this exhibits both azurite styles from Bisbee on the same piece...and it is most unusual, too! This Mullane Collection specimen was exhibited at the Tucson Show in the 1960s and comes with an engraved, plastic label showing it was in their exhibits, as opposed to dealer stock. Valued at $1000 for the carving rough and the size/quality.
