Item Description
Prehnite is one of our favorite species because it has so many styles, and we see a lot of variety today. However, in the 1700s-1800s and the early days of mineralogy, it was prehnite from this rare old French mining area that stunned mineralogists and was in collections of the era as the most beautiful example of the species. This is surely a historic piece. Today, we never see THIS quality and style on the market. The display piece features sharp radial clusters to 3 cm, with dark SATURATED color and good luster. These are unlike prehnite from any modern locale and are truly European classics of note.
