Another old time and excellent specimen is this spheroidal, lustrous, translucent, olive-green, specimen of prehnite. The true botryoidal nature and luster are most unusual for the species .The largest sphere measures 1.0 cm across. This has an uncanny resemblance to Tsumeb willemite. This fine piece is from a classic locality, an old abandoned diabase quarry, now in a nature reserve and collecting is prohibited. Comes with a label in German. Valued at $600.
