Prehnite on Epidote

Quite literally, tons of Prehnite came out of this remote locality around the years 2006-2008 but among them were some incredible fine , undamaged specimens in limited numbers. Now, even mentioning Mali to mineral collectors who were around then evokes images of great Prehnite/Epidote combinations. Just looking at this wonderful miniature immediately says it is part of the cream. Almost perfectly symmetrical, the nearly identical Prehnite balls are 2.6 cm across, just rotated 90 degrees from each other. They are translucent, with a textured and frosted surface. The deep-green Epidotes are lustrous and well-formed, and they accent the Prehnites beautifully. This miniature has balance and great aesthetics, and is certainly a choice example of the great Mali Prehnite/Epidotes combinations.
