India has produced so many unique minerals and combinations, but these, elegant stalks of prehnite crystals having replaced laumontite, surely must be one of the most unusual Indian finds. This piece from the Rock Currier collection would date to the 1980s (early to mid), and is a really beautiful, classic example of those discoveries, unequalled to this day in quality. They have found some more big plates in modern times, although it comes and goes in small pockets. This quality, however, is a thing of the far past. Rock Currier prided himself on his access to India and his Indian collection, and in fact named his business Jewel Tunnel Imports after the famous railroad tunnel discovery of apophyllite in India in the 1970s.
