Item Description

A rarely seen specimen featuring "clamshell"-shaped, translucent, "water" green colored Prehnites measuring up to 1.7 cm associated with minor brownish-green Epidote from this obscure locality in Pakistan. The piece is in reasonably good shape overall, and the Prehnites are highly reminiscent of the famous Alpine Prehnites from La Combe de la Selle in France. The Prehnites have a lovely vitreous luster and look beautiful when backlit. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12061). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
