Item Description

A very rarely seen specimen of somewhat velvety, translucent, "water"-green colored botyroidal Prehnite with balls measuring up to 6 mm across are associated with "needle"-like "sprays" of Epidote from this obscure discovery in Baja California. The label states that the specimen was collected near San Isidro (but we recently listed another piece from Kay's collection that said it was found near the beach). This is rare material and only the second piece we've offered, and it certainly would make a great addition to any Mexican mineral collection. Only in a collection like Kay Robertson's can you find specimens like this one. It very well could have been the only piece found. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1843). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
