Prehnite with Tanzanite (Rare Combo)

The mining around Merelani Hills in Tanzania has produced a good number of superb specimens and gem crystals of tanzanite over the past 50+ years (since before 1970). While this area may be synonymous with tanzanite, there are many other interesting and fine quality minerals found there, including some of the most attractive prehnites from any world locality. Recently some truly remarkable prehnites were found that are not only of fine gemmy/translucent quality, but feature superb sharp crystals of a beautiful color. This piece features a half of a ball of beautiful, sharp, distinct, lustrous, gem quality, greenish yellow crystals. The tanzanite is very gemmy and although it is broken and fragmented, still a neat association. The prehnite group is in good shape, though the top edge is partially incomplete where it grew against the pocket wall. It's not damaged, as you can see there are some distinct crystal faces in there, but some of the prehnites are not fully crystallized. This piece is from a recent 2019 find. Valued $500-600
